Dear all,
Apolgies for the lateness in this.
By now most of you, except for a couple of you, would have completed your exams. You can now start your preparation for Operation Cambodia in ernest.
You would remember that I have asked you to post your answers to any one or more of the questions below at your group blog. I would like everyone to answer so this is not a group post!
Reflection questions are:
• Going to Cambodia, and on a personal level, what do you hope to achieve? (Give at least three different objectives)
• On my own, have I made a concerted effort to find out more about Cambodia? Its geography, history, culture, politics, economy? What can I do about it?
• What are your fears going on this trip? Elaborate.
• Do you have any suggestions?
I look forward to reading your individual posts :)

By going to Cambodia, personally, I hope to achieve:
ReplyDelete~ Know more about the country (the atmosphere/situation, lifestyle, etc).
~ Learn to appreciate cultural differences.
~ Learn to be more discipline, punctual and work better together as a team.
~ Be more open-minded, learn to accept people's strengths and weaknesses.
~ Learn to adapt to the lifestyle over there.
On my own, honestly, I have not put in maximum effort to find out more about Cambodia. What I know is just general information.
Cambodia has a tropical climate - warm and humid. This gives me idea on the clothes to bring.
Cambodians have a strong belief in cultures (i.e. Buddhism cultures). This serves as a reminder for me to be culturally sensitive and adaptive.
Cambodia is a developing country. So, anytime, I have to be ready to step out of my comfort zone. (for example, transport is not as convenient. So, if there is transportation break down, I have to bear with it).
My greatest fear going on this trip is not to be able to survive the whole trip. Whether it is because of the lifestyle, the food, the climate, etc.
Another fear is the communication with friends who are going. I do not know them well yet, so I'm scared that we can't communicate well. On top of that, I'm not a local and I'm scared that there is biasness towards me..?
I hope that all of us will enjoy this trip, get to know each other better, so that this trip will be a memorable one :)
and we will be more appreciative and grateful of what we have after going on this trip :)
